This practice is all about drawing the body toward it’s middle. Often times in yoga, we take take big stretches that can pull us away from our energetic center. Outward flexibility without the ability to draw the body back in can lead to weakness and eventually injury. We will use our yoga block as a tool to strengthen the inner arms, inner legs, and core. Use of this prop will also help improve alignment and stabilize the pelvic floor. Students that are newer to yoga often think that the practice is all about reaching outward. Don’t be surprised when you realize how challenging it is to hug inward.
